Staff Profile

Pleased to be your Spanish teacher here for my seventh year at Westgate! I also want to welcome back the class of 2025 for 10th grade! I learned Spanish growing up living in Madrid, Spain for ten years. I graduated Metropolitan University of Denver in 2005. I taught English at Adams City High School in Commerce City and Spanish at North Arvada Middle School before this. I also worked as a substitute teacher in the Adams 14 school district, and have had many other jobs in charities, transportation, car sales, and other fields. I love skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking, motorcycles, and spending time with my wife and two school-age daughters. I look forward to our time building language skills, vocabulary, and culture with you! P.S. If you notice the name Brinkley somewhere else, it's because my wife Deanna is working here as the lunch supervisor now!

Hello Spanish 3,
This week we will be taking several assessments for the Health and Fitness unit: A vocabulary quiz, a listening quiz, and a conversational assessment. We are also finishing up videos for the advertisement presentation and will have a day during which we view them and vote for the best ones.

During Dia De los Muertos, we learned about how South American cultures celebrate lost loved ones by commemorating them with decorative skulls. We decorated sugar cookies to celebrate important people in our lives.
