Communication Pathways For Families
Contact Procedures:
- Make contact via email.
- Be specific: State what you understand or know about the situation and ask clarifying questions.
- Allow time for contact to gather the necessary information to address questions/concerns. You can expect a response within 48 hours from teachers and team leads; 72 hours from all others.
- As your query moves through the process, please be sure to copy all previous contacts for continued correspondence.
For communications with Westgate staff and administration concerning social emotional, academic, and school operations, please follow the communications pathways as indicated:
For Social Emotional Issues
- Contact the Teacher(s) involved. If the issue is not resolved, then:
- Contact the Team Lead. If the issue is not resolved, then:
- Contact the School Counselor. If the issue is not resolved, then:
- Contact the Assistant Principal for the appropriate grade level. If the issue is not resolved, then:
- Contact the Executive Director. If the issue is not resolved, then:
- Contact a Board Member.
For Academic Issues

What are Westgate’s school hours and office hours?
Half-Day Kinder hours: 8:00 am - 11:45 am.
Office hours: 7:50 am - 3:45 pm.
*On half days, all students are released at 11:30
How do I report that my student will be absent?
Where can I find the school calendar so I know when my student has days off?
Do I need an ID when I come to the school to volunteer or pick up my child?

How do I authorize someone else to pick up my student from school?
- State who will be picking up your student
- What date or dates they will be picking them up
- If it will be an early pick-up time
You must let office staff know any time someone other than a guardian will be picking up your student, even if they are on the authorized pick-up list. Adding them to the list just means you do not have to provide this in writing each time but can instead call the school.
Can I volunteer or observe a classroom my student is in?
