High School FAQs
What does Westgate's early college model look like?
Our high school program is an early college model. This means that students who qualify via Accuplacer testing are eligible to take tuition-free college courses from Front Range Community College AND high school courses at Westgate. Through concurrent enrollment, our students have the opportunity to graduate with a Westgate High School diploma in one hand and an Associate Degree in the other. Below is the suggested path for students during high school:
- Freshmen (9th graders) may take one course at FRCC each semester; earning up to 6 college credits
- Sophomores (10th graders) may take two courses at FRCC each semester; earning up to 12 college credits
- Juniors (11th graders) may take three courses at FRCC each semester; earning up to 18 college credits
- Seniors (12th graders) may take three courses at FRCC each semester; earning up to 24 college credits
Student FRCC course selections must be guaranteed transferable credits, in alignment with high school graduation and an Associate Degree track.
