Student Extracurricular Enrichment Opportunities
Student Extracurricular Enrichment Opportunities (CLUBS) are available each quarter. These can be a variety of after-school activities that are planned by Westgate teachers and staff. From exploring a variety of art mediums to learning strategy with game play, or playing a sport, these club activities are made to be fun and engaging for our students and offer options for kids of all ages. Westgate often contracts with outside validated organizations for additional club offerings that you may have to register for individually.
- Students must be signed up before the registration deadline.
- Please note the age group of the club offering when registering.
- No late registration will be accepted.
- Please note that all students must be picked up by 5pm. Please be considerate in the appropriate travel time it takes to get your student(s) by the 5pm pick up time.
2024-25 Quarter 3 CLUBS
- Westgate Club registration will open on Wednesday, January 8th at 12pm.
- Registration closes on Sunday, January 19th at 11:59pm
- Clubs will begin the week of January 20th through the week of March 14th
- No clubs on MLK Jr Day (1/20), Presidents' Day (2/17)

Lego Club | K-12th | $53 | Lubang | Welcome to Lego Club! You might've guessed it, but we will be taking this time to build creations out of Legos! We can design beforehand and then use a variety of Lego sizes and shapes to create their ideas. I will also print some instructions to follow if they want to complete a specific design. Each student will be sharing a set of Legos at a table, which means we will be working on some sharing skills! |
The Self-Love Club | 2nd-8th | $65 | Small | The Self-Love Club is designed to empower children to embrace their unique qualities, build self-confidence, and develop the emotional resilience needed to thrive. Through fun, age-appropriate activities, creative expression, and guided discussions, participants will learn valuable skills such as positive self-talk, goal setting, and managing emotions. Rubik's Cube Club | 2nd -9th | $30 | Rosenblatt | Students will practice with each other and use any guides they need to improve their skills. Students are encouraged to bring any type of cube/puzzle they want to practice. We will have a mini-tournament at the end of the club and many more fun activities each week. Each student will receive a 2x2 cube this time around to make sure all students can participate! There will also be other shapes/cubes for others to borrow during club hours. |
Take-apart Club | 4th -8th | $75 | Elliott | Join the Take-Apart Club, where creativity meets hands-on exploration! In this club, we take apart small machines—like old radios, clocks, toys, and other gadgets—and dive into understanding how they work. Our goal? To put them back together and make them work like new! Whether you’re a budding engineer or just love discovering how things function, this club will spark your curiosity. No experience is needed, just a passion for tinkering and problem-solving! We’ll learn together, share ideas, and unleash our inner inventors in a fun, safe environment. Get ready to build, break, and rebuild in ways you never imagined! |

Kahoot & Jeopardy Club | 2nd-12th | $40 | Papiernik | Each week, students will be participating in a Kahoot or a Jeopardy game. A kahoot is a fun way to play online trivia. Kahoot trivia and Jeopardy Topics: sports, food, movies, tv shows, Colorado facts, history, science, underwater, and space. |
Beginning Crochet Club | 5th - 12th | $70 | Martz-Mayfield | This is a crochet class for beginners, but all skill levels are welcome. I will provide yarn, a set of different patterns, hooks, and supplies for projects. Students will work on mastering chain stitches, basic single, half double, and double crochet stitches, the magic circle, and counting stitches. We will hopefully complete a coaster pattern by the end of the course. More advanced students may complete other projects as requested. |
Play-Doh Fun Club | Kinder - 2nd | $40 | Freeland | Welcome to the Play-Doh Fun Club, where young imaginations come to life! This exciting club is designed for kindergarten through 2nd grade students who love to get creative and explore the endless possibilities of Play-Doh. Each week, we'll have fun molding and shaping colorful Play-Doh into all kinds of amazing creations—animals, shapes, characters, and even things you make up yourself! |
Anime Club | 1st-8th | $90 | McGinnis | Welcome to our Anime Club! This club is designed for students aged 7 to 13 who have a passion for anime. We carefully select age-appropriate shows that are both entertaining and suitable for this age group. Some of the anime we may watch include shows or features such as: My Neighbor Totoro Pokémon Naruto My Hero Academia In addition to enjoying these fantastic shows, we will provide pre-packaged, non-allergenic snacks to ensure everyone can safely enjoy their time with us. |

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for our school community – introducing the Quarter 4 Family Garden Club! This is a fantastic chance for families to connect, learn, and grow together while nurturing their green thumbs. What is the Family Garden Club? Our Family Garden Club will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 4:00-6:00pm during quarter 4. Each participating family will receive:
- A garden plot to cultivate and care for.
- A handmade personalized sign for your plot.
- Seeds to start your garden journey
- Weekly garden workshops where you’ll learn various gardening skills and techniques with Mrs. Kahn
- And more!!
Additionally, your family will get to keep the garden plot throughout the summer, allowing you to continue enjoying your garden and its produce beyond the weekly meetings. To help cover the costs of materials and water usage, there will be a $75 fee for each participating family. This fee will support the resources we provide and ensure a well-maintained garden space for everyone. Not only will you gain hands-on experience in gardening, but you’ll also have the chance to meet and bond with other families in our school community. It’s a wonderful way to spend quality time outdoors and share a common interest.

Yearbook Club | 7th - 12th | $65 | Houghton | The Yearbook Club offers students the exciting opportunity to document the highlights of the school year through creative writing, photography, and graphic design. Members work together to create a lasting memory for their peers, capturing special events, student achievements, and school traditions. Whether you're passionate about photography, love writing, or enjoy graphic design, this club provides valuable hands-on experience in publication. Students will develop teamwork, leadership, and project management skills while meeting deadlines to produce the school's official yearbook. Open to both middle and high school students, this club is perfect for anyone interested in journalism, photography, or creative arts. Yearbook Club will be held for Q2 and Q3. If students attend both quarters of club, they will receive a free yearbook from the school. |
Drama Club | 3rd - 12th | $70 | Ms. Linda | The Q3 Drama Club will focus on fostering character development and enhancing stage presence. Through engaging games and theatre sports, drama club students will have a lot of fun experimenting with different roles and characters. They will be shown and taught a variety of ways to embody characters, using physical gestures, vocal techniques, and as a whole group we will work together to improve stage our presence. Our aim is to support our Westgate actors so that they can connect with their audience and deliver compelling performances. There will not be a show at the end of Q3 however they will be working on skills and character development that will strengthen our Spring show. It will be a supportive space where we will grow as performers while developing our personal skills in acting, communication, and teamwork. When in doubt, Act it out! |

Dungeons and Dragons Club | 7th - 12th | $20 | Rowan | In an age where creativity and collaboration are vital, the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Club offers students an immersive experience in storytelling, teamwork, and strategic thinking. This club aims to bring together students who share a passion for role-playing games, creating an inclusive and dynamic environment. Students will be responsible for their own campaigns and quests. |
