Solar Eclipse April 8, 2024. A solar eclipse happens when the Moon moves between Earth and the Sun. When this happens, the Moon gradually blocks out the light from the Sun.

Getting Ready for the April 8th Solar Eclipse!

We are excited to announce that Westgate Community School will be participating in the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. We will be providing eclipse glasses that comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard for every student and have prepared age-appropriate lessons to enhance student understanding of this fascinating phenomenon. Club Registration Open for Q4!

School club registration opened on April 1! Register now for the 2024 Q4 after-school clubs. There are many options available for students of all ages. Find the list of current Quarter 4 clubs on our Clubs Page
Clubs will start the week of 4/15/24 and run through the week of 5/20/24.

Capture the Memories: Order Your 2023-2024 Yearbook Today!

There's still time to order a 23-24 yearbook! Yearbooks are $32 each and a customization can be added to the cover for an additional fee. Yearbooks will be distributed to all K-8 students on the last day of school. High school students will receive theirs on May 23rd. The deadline to order is April 23rd.

2024 Spring Assessments Schedule

As we gear up for the crucial CMAS, MAPS and DIBLES testing period following Spring Break, we want to ensure that our students are well-prepared and equipped to excel. Testing will take place exclusively in the mornings, as research suggests that students tend to perform better during this time. Therefore, we kindly request your assistance in ensuring that your child arrives at school promptly to avoid any disruptions to their testing schedule.
