Week of 11/04 Spanish 2

Hello,
 
We are starting the week learning about the monarch butterflies and their symbol around "Día de los muertos". We are continuing to practice speaking with essential questions around name, last name, origin, age... We are introducing ourselves in Spanish and talking about courses and subjects. At the same time we keep practicing speaking we review the vocabulary from the unit. We are reviewing "how to create a text" and writing our basic first writing. We are reading a text about Spanish in United States and practicing comprehension. 

Week of October 28th

Hello,
 
This week in Spanish 2 we will review topics (like gastronomy, art...) in Spanish class. They will collaborate and create in group their own mind map to have a vision around the cultural content they had done. We will keep practicing femenino vs masculino and they will have a quizz about it on Thursday. 

Week of 21st

Hello,
 
We are going to practice feminine and masculine in Spanish with articles and how that impact the verb. We are going to review the vocabulary to communicate in class. We are working around "Día de los muertos" and Mexican culture.
They are going to have a listening and reading quiz around the concepts viewed in class.

Week of October 14th

Hello,
 
This week we reviewed the infinitives in Spanish and how verbs are organized. We practiced regular verbs in present and they took a test about it. We also learned about the differences between countries with subject pronouns "usted" (in Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador...) vs vosotros/as (Spain) or vos (Argentina, Uruguay...). We also spoke about vacations and introduced new adjectives to describe.

Week of 09/23

Dear parents,
This week, we will continue practicing pronunciation, focusing on the five Spanish vowels. We will also work on gender and articles and explore topics related to Hispanic Heritage Month like Frida Kahlo and Diego rivera. We will explore different Hispanic rhythm from Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

Week of 08/26

Dear Parents,

This week, we will continue reviewing and practicing letters and sounds in Spanish through fun tongue twisters. We are expanding our vocabulary related to time, such as days, months, and hours. Additionally, we will learn about significant Hispanic figures like Botero, Maná, and Dalí and explore their importance in Hispanic culture.

To enhance our listening skills, we will also practice with Spanish songs, such as "Rayando el Sol."

Please be aware that students have homework every day to help them practice and review the lessons learned in class.

First week of school and Syllabus

Dear Parents,

This week has been an exciting start to our Spanish language adventure! 🎉

📚 Syllabus Overview: We kicked off the week by reviewing our syllabus. This will guide us through our learning journey, and we're thrilled to dive into the rich world of Spanish together. The syllabus is posted on my Team class.  Please, let me know if you want a copy in paper. 

🎲 Get-to-Know-You Games: To build a strong classroom community, we played some fun games to help everyone get acquainted. It’s wonderful to see the students interacting and starting to form connections!

Students took an assessment test to evaluate their level and determine their starting point for the year. 

We’re looking forward to an engaging and educational experience as we embark on this journey. Thank you for your continued support!
