Week of September 9th

Hello,

This week, students will be finishing up their Pangea puzzle group project. Students have been learning how scientists came to the conclusion of plate tectonic movement and continental drift.  Here is a video describing the Continental Drift Theory. https://youtu.be/mh5yu24DeQE?feature=shared

Week of September 3rd

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

This week in science we will continue to take notes about the structure of the Earth. Students will learn how different tectonic plates create different types of volcanoes.

Here is a video we will be watching on how volcanoes are formed.

Week of August 25th

Hello!

I hope you have a great weekend! We will continue to talk about the different way tectonic plates move. We are currently working on a lab that discusses how sea floor spreading shows that the continental plates are diverging.

Week of August 19th

Hello!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  This week students will be learning about tectonic plates and how they move. They will also be learning about how the core helps create a convection zone that moves plates and shapes our land. Here is a video that talks about many of the concepts we will be covering this week.

Week of August 12th

Hello!

This week in science, students will begin taking notes in their science notebooks on the Layers of the Earth. We will be reviewing the crust, the mantle, the outer core, and the inner core. Students will graph the different temperatures of each layer and discuss the connection of temperature to its location in Earth.
