1st Grade Music 1/13/25

Welcome back!

This week, students are reviewing rhythms.
- Ti-ti (eighth notes)
- Ta (quarter notes)
- Ta-a (half notes)
- "shh" (quarter note rests)

This is a review of last rotation's rhythms, but they're working on mixing them up and symbol recognition and we will add sixteenth notes (ti-ki ti-ki)

We will also do daily warm up videos that include dancing, motions, and singing to the beat of the music.

1st Grade Music Week 2

This week, students will continue their daily singing and moving to music.

We integrate rhythms and symbols into some of the songs so they will begin recognition.

This week is also the first time they will play on the hand drums. We will learn about technique on the hand drums in order to make different sounds using different parts of your hand and the drum.

We will use these skills to play some of our first rhythms.

1st grade Music Week 1

Welcome back!

This week, students will be learning their assigned spots for music and will begin each day with singing and dancing/moving to music. They will learn classroom expectations, routines, and where everything is in relation to the music classroom.

We will also review quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests. They will start out counting by using their hands to clap the rhythms and prepare to use hand drums.
