Welcome back!

 

This week, students are working on rhythms.

- Ti-ti (eighth notes)

- Ta (quarter notes)

- Ta-a (half notes)

 

This is a review of last rotation's rhythms, but they're working on mixing them up and symbol recognition.

 

We will also do daily warm up videos that include dancing, motions, and singing to the beat of the music.

This week, students will continue their daily singing and moving to music.

 

We integrate rhythms and symbols into some of the songs so they will begin recognition.

 

This week is also the first time they will play on the hand drums. We will learn about technique on the hand drums in order to make different sounds using different parts of your hand and the drum.

 

We will use these skills to play some of our first rhythms.

This first week in music we will set routines and learn what school and music class is all about. Kids will be assigned a seating spot and we will start learning names and interests.

 

Students will begin each day with singing and dancing/moving to music and we will explore how to keep a steady beat with your hands and feet.
